In the Fall of 2010 we launched iLead, an intense program for youth in our churches that began the process of building up the faith and leadership skills of this generation of disciples and leaders. We had a great experience and saw many youth impacted who are going back to their churches empowered to lead and build up the ministry of their church. We are inviting you to consider youth who may want to be a part of the new iLead group which will begin in November.
iLead will bring together youth from different churches in our region for 6 retreats that will focus on these five areas:
o Spiritual Formation – learning and practicing spiritual disciplines
o Theological Formation – understanding the essentials of the Christian faith
o Missional Formation – spreading God’s love in the world we live in and the world beyond our own
o Leadership Formation – tools to equip youth to become servant leaders
o Life Formation – 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens
iLead is for mature 14 (9th graders) -20 year olds. Those that apply need to be available for ALL of the events; have a desire to grow in the walk with Jesus Christ; have church leaders that believe in their potential to become leaders; be willing to learn and be fully endorsed by their churchwho will provide an adult mentor and financial support.
Time Commitment – this is a serious commitment of time. However, because so much time is spent together with dynamic teaching and lessons and practical learning – the impact will be great.
Every iLead participant will have an adult mentor. This is an adult in the church who will meet with the iLead participant on a regular basis and will be an advocate for the iLead participant in the church.
iLead application, reference letters and a deposit are due on November 2, 2011!
