FULL VERSION OF INVITATION LETTER

Your church is invited to appoint one or a few volunteers to be mission advocates from your church. 

A Mission Advocate is someone who:

• Has a passion for outreach and missions and is respected as a leader in your church.
• Will serve a 2 year term as a Mission Advocate
• Is fully aware of how your church is supporting and is involved in missions and outreach
• Will receive communication about regional and American Baptist ministry and share the information with church leadership and the church family.
• Will invite your church to support the events, programs, missionaries or our regional and national ABC family.
• Encourage your church to continue to receive the ABC Offerings: Regional, America for Christ, World Mission Offering, One Great Hour of Sharing, Retired Ministers and Missionaries Offering.
• Communicate with the region what your church is doing in mission outreach so that others may know and possibly share ministry with your church.
• Attend 3 meetings a year: Fall: Mission Advocates Training Event; Winter: Attend an area meeting; Spring: Mission Advocates reception at the Annual Meeting.
• When possible – join in conference calls with missionaries serving on the field.
